OpenOffice, this version by Sun Microsystems, is an Open-Source Project to develop a FREE Microsoft-Office Alternative. This is an excellent product, well documented and supported and totally free. It reads all Word, Excel and Powerpoint files, it is smoother, looks familiar, but better, it is a faster and superior product to Office, fixing many of the office problems, such as Styles, Stylesheets and cost.

The now world-famous Mozilla Firefox Web Browser, a better browser than Internet Explorer® by far, more secure, smoother, easier to customise, etc, etc. More and more people are using this as their main browser, it has now overtaken IE as the de-facto browser of choice available.

The Mozilla Thunderbird Email Client, a must-have replacement for all Outlook and Outlook Express users. Identical in nearly every way, except it feels smoother, has better data handling, and much better security.
