Flash Memory Chips + Card Readers
All netbooks, many Laptops, and most modern PCs come with 3-in-1 or greater
card readers, taking most forms of SD-RAM. This is an incredibly useful
media, being as it is very small and with high capacities. As yet, it is not
the fastest medium in the world, and it does have the big problem that they
are so small, they are easily lost! But we use these in preference to USB sticks,
and use them for transport, backup storage, or as 'disks' to swap in and out
of our many media and small computer devices.

MP3 / MP4 / MP5 Players
It is surprising how few people know that an MP3 player and a
USB memory stick can serve exactly the same purpose for
transferring data, the difference is of course than an
MP3 player is far more fun, because it can also play music.
An MP4 player is even more fun, because it can play
Videos. Apple devices, however, are not so useful, because often you
cannot simply play ordinary MP3 songs, they must be 'converted'
or bought from the Apple Store - gadgets then for the more
affluent middle-classes.
